What a special place! My fiance and I were looking for somewhere to have a nice dinner together to celebrate our engagement. I am a very picky eater and also have allergies, so fine dining can be difficult for me. Binkley's accepted all of my quirky eating habits and my allergies and accommodated me like no other restaurant has before.
As all allergy and picky eaters know, you often get the "whatever we have around" meal when you ask for special treatment. I had the opposite experience at Binkley's - my tasting menu was as thoughtful and interesting and generous with creativity as the planned tasting menu. I LOVED IT.
There are no other places like Binkley's in Arizona. The experience was a true treat. It was also educational and fun and interactive. There was almost one staffer per guest and each had personality and information. Chef Binkley and Amy are delightful and present during your meal, and seem authentically pleased to have you dine with them.
We highly recommend the beverage pairing to go with your meal. Cannot wait to go back- we will definitely return a couple of times a year. -

My wife and I dined here Saturday evening with her sister and her boyfriend.
The dinner happens in multiple stages at different locations over 3-4 hours. You start in the bar. One of the more interesting things we had at the bar was a prosciutto with a cantaloupe drink that was almost like a shot/chaser. Interesting twist on traditional prosciutto and melon and still very good.
All of the food and drink are very good, and you can taste the quality ingredients he uses.
My favorite was the wagyu beef that we added to our meal. So good. It made both my wife and her sister stop in their tracks while talking. Hilarious.
Runner up was probably this pork that was the main course. So juicy and tender. Unreal.
I particularly liked this avgolemono inspired dish that had beans and clams in it. It was almost like a cross between that soup and clam chowder. It was unique and delicious.
During the dinner, my brother in law mentioned to Chef Binkley that the last time he was at Binkley's was in Cave Creek and he couldn't stop thinking about a hot chocolate foie gras that was on that tasting menu. Chef Binkley then told us "I'll see what I can do" and the last thing that came out to our table was hot chocolate foie gras. No other table got that that night, just us. Talk about service and going the extra mile for your audience. It was so good.
Chef Binkley was also very engaging and gregarious, joking and laughing with us (and others) throughout the night. He even took a picture with us at the end of the night.
If you're on the fence, just do yourself a favor and try it once. Save up if you need to. Make a reservation and plan to celebrate a memorable event in your life with a loved one. You won't forget it! -

If you're looking for an intimate unconventional 3 hour dining experience, then this is it. It was a night of 20 guests in the restaurant, and 18 courses for each of us. The bar food portion of the menu was appropriately served in the bar area while the later courses were served in the main room near the kitchen.
The food portion of the evening is $245 per person and this is including the tax and mandatory gratuity. It's called "tasting the menu." The menu changes on a weekly basis. The drink portion is $198 per person, this is including tax and mandatory gratuity, and this is mostly wine pairings with each meal. If you're only interested in cocktails know that the first cocktail of the night is complimentary! Know that you can also purchase certain pairings if you really want them as the night goes on, like we wanted the 1 sake pairing, and the 1 beer pairing. You would pay for these at the end of your meal. They also have other cocktails you can choose from outside of the wine pairing menu, like a Moscow Mule or an Old fashioned. Just ask for the cocktail menu.
I find it impressive that they're able to cater to the dietary restrictions of each individual but are also able to move everyone around seamlessly. For example, multiple groups are given tours through the garden, bar, and kitchen and at each point you're given a food sample catering to your dietary restriction; they are able to keep everything straight.
The whole night was pleasant, but the dry ice touch at the end was probably the highlight, especially since Chef Binkley himself had come to our table to present that one for us!
The following day Chef Kevin Binkley called and left me a thank you message for coming in! How sweet, thank YOU Amy and Kevin for a wonderful evening. The goodie bags are a great touch as well! -

Exquisite Dining Experience! My husband and I had the pleasure of celebrating our 30th wedding Anniversary at Binkley's.
Where to begin? My head is still scrambling to make sense of the spectacular taste, and experience of our evening. I guess, I'll start by saying how amazing it all was!
From the moment you step foot on the premises, you are treated like the "honored VIP guest," of the evening! And it never stops, the entire night through! You WILL walk away in wonder and amazement, of a once in a lifetime experience! Also, you'll walk away extremely full and satisfied! For hours, and hours, and even up to the next day! I woke up thinking, "nothing I put in my mouth all day, will ever compare to what we ate!" (Until next time!)
If you have any doubts if it's,"worth it?" Let me try, and push any hesitation aside! If you love exquisite food, prepared in away that will blow your mind, and tastebuds away. Then just do it! Your evening at Binkley's, is one that you'll remember forever!
Binkley's is an intimate, and relaxing atmosphere, that is intended to feel as if you're a guest at chef Binkley's home. As he says, "nothing is off limits." You are encouraged to walk through the kitchen, as chef is preparing food, ask questions and interact! Such a fun and unique way to dine! With only 18-20 other guests, in the cozy dining room, you really do feel like you are at his dinner party. (Side note, this place is immaculate, their health score of 100/100 is very evident!) The atmosphere is so quaint and comfortable! Decorated perfectly.
Much of the ingredients he uses are harvested in their garden at the restaurant and his personal home. Each refined bite, exemplifies the freshness and quality of each ingredient!
We chose to add the beverage pairing for an additional $150 per person. Best decision ever. If you appreciate wine, hand crafted spirts, and brews! This is a steal! They are not stingy when it comes to pours and refills! (You will definitely want to Uber!) Each pairing was perfectly matched to each tasting, to reflect a perfect balance and compliment it's complexity! Incredible. Our first cocktail was a seasonal rhubarb slushy with lime vodka. I've never had anything close, to that good in my life! Spectacular. While sipping on our cocktails, we were led out to the garden to enjoy the a tour of fresh herbs and vegetables that will be used in preparation for the evenings tastings! While lingering in the garden, we were served a Harissa Biscuit with sweet pepper, mint, and mascarpone.
From this point you are served multiple bites and drinks at the bar, In the kitchen, and at various stations throughout the home! Again, INTERACTIVE dining is awesome! Some of our courses before seated for the main courses are as follows; Geoduck Taco, Ham and Cheese Prosciutto, Chilled Porcini Ravioli, Smoked Wild Copper River Sockeye Salmon Dip, with Dill and Onion Puffed Rice Chips. Melon Shots to cleanse the pallet, Fried Zucchini with carbonated Russian Dressing, Buffalo Chicken Meatball with Duck Fat Hot Wing Sauce, and lastly a perfect Morel Mushroom Slider! I didn't mention all the detail that went into every single course, but it truly was exciting and different than anything I've ever had before! And Remember, we had the wine pairing, so everything we ate was served with a perfect wine carefully selected! Also an amazing craft beer infused with hot peppers! It was amazing, especially with that Buffalo Meatball!
Now after many drinks and at least 11 courses by this time, you're seated at your table in the dining room. Let the spoiling continue! As more, and more courses are delivered and explained to you, it seems like there's no way, the next course could out do the next one, but they just kept getting better and better!
It's honestly difficult to point out just one feature, that was our favorite part of the night. It was all incredible and the food and drink were outstanding! Learning the Chef Binkley worked at the French Laundry, with Chef Thomas Keller, was so exciting for me, considering that the French Laundry is on my bucket list, I feel that item on my bucket list, was checked off tonight! One more thing to mention about Chef Binkley, he is the most calm, engaging, and friendly man! He and his beautiful wife work amazingly together! (They also love their dogs, as much as we do!) He's delightful and talented beyond belief.
We were handed a lovely departing gift, which held two leather Binkley's Coasters, our Special Menu, Wine Pairing List, Date Soup Recipe, along with a baggy full of local organic dates!
Until next time.... I'll see you soon Chef Binkley! -

After an evening at Binkley's you'll walk away with a few different thoughts and feelings. First you'll feel satisfaction in the knowledge that meal you just ate was one of the best you've had.
Second you'll notice a bit of inebriation from the numerous glasses of wine you had with your meal.
Next you'll have an understanding for how very wealthy people can get out of touch so easily. When people get accustomed to the type of service you get at Binkley's, it'd be hard not to become a different person.
The last thought will be, "was that worth it?" We'll come back to that in a moment.
This is mostly an experience but the fact remains that it is a restaurant first and foremost. That begs the question of "how's the food?" The food is delightful. There were 18 courses the evening I dined and I'd say 14 were fantastic although small. With 18 courses you do expect tiny samplings but two things can be true and that's the case here. There was great food but there was not enough food. Some courses were forgetful or felt empty but everything was executed with care and precision.
The service was extraordinary. I have nothing but praise for the staff and their effort.
The experience has been written about before but that's really what you're here for. You can celebrate your anniversary or birthday anywhere but you're here to be pampered and swept off your feet. They do a great job with that aspect and it starts from before you arrive and even lasts beyond your meal. I found it especially impressive to get a phone call from the restaurant the following day to make sure I had a wonderful evening.
If meals like this weren't expensive, we'd eat like kings daily. Alas, they are very expensive. You can go to their website and see the current cost but you're looking north of $200 each with service without wine and $400 each if the wine pairing is included. Is it worth it? I'd say it is once for sure and perhaps annually. I personally won't do the wine pairing again and would instead elect to buy a bottle or have a cocktail.
If you have a special occasion to celebrate and a reinforced wallet, you will certainly enjoy this night. Treat yourself.
